Cultural and environmental reasons is why I believe Aussie girls dont wear their hair as long . There seems to be a "hate long hair " culture in them , the environmental side says it is too hot to wear long hair anyway .

So apart from Mandy , and one or two other aussies shoulder to bra-strap length is all my society is happy with .... there are of course those who would disagree ..... so be it .
