Who ever told you that Down syndrome can be cured?

Its consequences can be considerably softened by understanding and certain measures that take into account the child´s special predicament. But it cannot be cured.

Genetic defects simply can´t be cured. Period. I had a good example in my circle of friends where 40 years ago a healthy young couple had non-identical twins with the same rare genetic defect I had never heard of - and most people neither. The loving parents would have done and given absolutely everything to help their poor children who were dying a horribly slow death of 18 years. But nothing, nothing could help. It was nervwracking that you could only watch the children, who were extremely disturbed in just about everything as long as they were small and mobile, fade away slowly.

There is absolutely no way of educating a child against its sexual orientation or deeply-felt gender identity. You will only end up making the child absolutely miserable.

Your approach is a recipe for desaster. Such a desaster hasn´t struck yet, because there has never happened to be any child born into your family with such homosexual or transgender tendencies.
