It's a shame you cannot share your fetish with your significant other, but I do understand the situation. It does sound weird to most of people, especially if you come from a small and conservative town, but it's all about education.

I still think you shouldn't give up and do it in baby steps. You should explain, and make sure she has it in mind. Maybe in a more advanced stage to show some visual stuff.

If you'll just ignore it, nothing will change anyway so it's better to try slowly.
