Does anyone else feel conflicted the way I sometimes do?
I unashamedly proclaim myself a feminist and have belonged for twenty years to the National Organization for Women (N.O.W.).
Yet, of course, I also enjoy the beauty of women and, particularly, their hair.
Those of you who are my fellow Baby Boomers
( I feel compelled to adress you because I have shockingly discovered how many younger people--even presumably well-educated undergraduate women--don't know who she is!
), how many appreciated (and, perhaps, more
) Gloria Steinem PRECISELY BECAUSE of her long, center-parted locks
? Still, I feel guilty about perhaps "objectifying" my metaphorical sisters
in this way....
What's your own reaction?
