Great idea!
you have to look at the resolution of the pictures...
now if you make the pictures [with your Nikon E4300 ] the picture is stored at 300dpi. That is great if you plan on printing it out or retouching or whatever...
Now, for the internet, a resolution of 72 dpi is okay, as [most] computer monitors only display at 72 dpi.
So, if you have a picture of
2048 x 1536 at 300 dpi = 1.631 kb [1.6MB]
2048 x 1536 at 72 dpi = 745 kb [jpg with quality at 75]
