Why it is a problem

As much as I disapprove of the ineffectual and vague content of the post by 'Don Richies' the point still holds that the copyright holder owns the rights over the distribution of their work. Reproducing a photo without the permission of the copyright holder (this includes merely saving it even if not posting it again elsewhere) is illegal under U.S. Copyright law.

If the activity of posting photos here did not bother the photo subjects then it would be an easy thing to obtain their permission yet people don't ask. That in itself is very telling and disrespectful. In other cases the photos are intentionally created to feed sexual desire and the model is completely comfortable with that but are the work of another site. When a photographer goes to the work of hiring a model and creating the photos then it is highly ungrateful for them to be ripped off and have their work shown elsewhere.
