Guy from India here. It is quite common to just stumble across a thick long braid or a big bun or just any type of hair you love. 1 in 5 girls here have at least waist length hair. In the past week, I have spotted 2 thick braids till knees and one very loose ponytail made from very very thick coarse brown hair till waist in the local supermarket here. I have the pictures and don’t mind sharing them.
