I totally agree.

I once had a student from a religious community who explained to me that she is not allowed to ever cut her hair because she is supposed to wash Jesus´ feet with it when he comes again.

I don´t mean to criticize her belief at all here, particularly as she was a niceperson an appeared sincerely devoted, but even for a life-long long-hair fetishist like me that has always been one of the most incomprehensible and most sobering reasons of all for growing out and keeping very long hair.

And with someone now willing to do something similar without the background of a religious tradition and community that is to be respected by an individual within that community, but just for the sheer novelty (?) and excitement (?) of it, the idea presented here sounds even more incomprehensible to me.
