That debate is stupid and always has been because you can literally have both in cases like Aliia, Alinka, (formerly) Rin, Mila, Victoria from RR, etc. This idea that hair instantly loses quality once it reaches a certain length is quite a dumb one and frankly whenever I see average length hair of good quality, my first and only thought is "it should be longer".
