Interesting, I have the opposite thought - a freshly trimmed length may indicate she could have had more cut but chose to go no shorter. Therefore her hair is "safe" from a future big cut.

While someone with more wispy/natural ends might have a trim (or worse) in their near future.

Either approach could be correct, which I suppose is part of the mystery.
