Re: Hair-Motivated Video Acquisitions?

by Manu

Wow...where to start...so many to name/remember, so little time!

1. Dallas was a goldmine for me from a hairlovers point of view. Victoria Principal (one of my ALL time favourites) and Charlene Tilton of course were the regulars from the start, but many, many others came and went. Morgan Brittany, Mary Crosby, Leigh Taylor-Young, to name a few. The scene where Leigh enters JR's office in a fur coat, drops the coat to "reveal" she was nude underneath, and then taunts JR, was the inspiration for many fantasies. But for all the bevy of beauties Dallas had, the ultimate for me, even knocking Victoria off her perch, was...Deborah Shelton. Not just lovely hair, but an astounding beauty as well.

2. Falcon Crest was another goldmine. It already gave us Susan Sullivan (fantastic bob!) and Ana Alicia, the icing on the cake really came when Morgan Fairchild joined the cast (all too brief though!). I absolutely adore Morgan. Amazing beauty and oozes sex appeal. They don't make em like her any more!

3. Dynasty, for Linda Evans's bob, of course! Heather Locklear was a great bonus. Some notable moments with the likes of Joan Collins, Stephanie Beacham, Catherine Oxenberg and Tracy Scoggins too.

4. Jacklyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd on Charlie's Angels. Farrah Fawcett too, I give you, but she didn't really do as much for me, go figure!

5. Connie Selleca on Hotel. Right up there with Deborah Shelton. Oozes charm and sex appeal. Heidi Bohay was nice too. And if I recall correctly Morgan Fairchild guest starred on an episode too. All good.

6. Daytime Soaps: Hunter Tylo on The Bold and the Beautiful, Deidre Hall on Days of Our Lives, Melody Thomas Scott on The Young and the Restless, so many more, too many to mention...

7. Heather Thomas on The Fall Guy. With some occasional notable hairdos from Markie Post.

8. Vino, I agree with Stephanie Zimbalist on Remmington Steele (so thick!). Another Stephanie for me was Stefanie Powers, on Hart to Hart.

9. Valerie Bertinelli on One Day at a Time.

10. Lisa Whelchel on Facts of Life.

11. Loni Anderson on WKRP in Cincinatti.

12. Erin Gray in Buck Rogers (that suit!) and Silver Spoons.

13. Alyssa Milano on Who's the Boss (later years of course!). I always thought she should have remained longish.

14. Crystal Bernard on It's A Living (notable moments with Ann Jillian and Gail Edwards (always so fluffy!) too), and then Wings.

15. Kirstie Alley on Cheers.

16. Lori Loughlin on Full House.

17. Patricia Richardson on Home Improvement. Something about her...

18. Danielle Fishel, Topanga on Boy Meets World. That haircut scene...

19. Angela Watson on Step by Step - someone else mentioned her, agree she was underrated.

20. The Hoff's sidekicks on Knight Rider - Rebecca Holden and Patricia McPherson.

21. Holly Marie Combs on Picket Fences (which also had Deidre Hall), and then Charmed.

22. Vanessa Marcil on General Hospital, Beverly Hills 90210 and Las Vegas. 90210 also gave us Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth.

23. Dana Delany (and Marg Helgenberger) on China Beach. Dana was hot on Desperate Housewives too, which also gave us Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Gail O'Grady.

24. Aussie Soaps gave me 2 major ones - Nicola Charles from Neighbours and Isla Fisher from Home and Away.

25. I'll end by moving from TV to just one entry for movies - as a tribute to all the Bond Beauties of the past: Maud Adams, Jane Seymour, Tanya Roberts, Barbara Bach, Lois Chiles, Honor Blackman. That's probably my top 6, not necessarily in that order.

All this is just from the top of my head (!). There were many, many more...
