pc.....all the messages suddenly turned red for me too.

but...I sussed out why

it's cos I had my "history" option under Internet Options set at 10 days. As soon as I cleared that (was tryin' a little experiment) one of the side effects was that it seemed to set everything to "unread"

so now I know to leave that button well alone in future!
