This is a matter of personal preference. I personally prefer long hair. In my single days all things being equal, I would approach the long haired girl first. Does that make me shallow? I don't think so. It just means I acted on my personal preferences. If we didn't click, I would move on to a shorter haired woman. It was a preference not a defining feature. In fact my wife had chin length hair when we started dating.

I have friends who have no preference of hair length. They couldn't care less about hair. I know some who prefer shorter hair. I even have one friend who has encouraged his wife to shave her head quite a few times.

Some men prefer breasts, some prefer distinctive hips and butts. I happen to prefer long hair on women.
