I'm sorry, but you are wrong.

People make a big deal about it, equating the term Oriental to Black (for which everyone should use African American). It is not the same. Arabs from the Middle East are also Asians. But they are not Orientals. All those from the Indian Subcontinent are also Asians. But they are not Orientals. Even those from South East Asia, while they are also Asians, and many are in fact descendants from mainland China, they are not Orientals. Orientals refers specifically to Asians from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea. It is not a racist or demeaning term.
