Here we go again with this discussion.
Let me say what I think in this particular case: Lily Collins is an extraordinary beauty with her gorgeous looks (face, eyes, smile) first of all.
In at least some of the pictures here, her hair clearly hangs way below bra-strap length and, as far as I´m concerned, is thereby fully qualified as really long enough to be featured on this forum. I don´t regard her hair as thin and boring, either.
And here is my general comment: We have seen much shorter hair posted here before than Lily Collins´, and at least for me, posting such relatively short hair is besides the point and purpose of a forum like this one.
Let´s face it: Why do we go online with our love of long hair in the first place?
I can think of two basic reasons.
One is certainly the wish to be understood in the company of those who share our love or even fetish in a world that otherwise tells women at age 30 to surrender to their old age and their supposedly sagging facial features (utter nonsense on both counts, if you ask me) and get a high-maintenance short hairstyle that most people out there consider fashionable or stylish, but that I simply call a waste of money, beauty, time, and potential.
The other reason is that we want to see online what we don´t get to see in real life, or at least don´t get to see often enough.
Frankly, I don´t visit this site to see what I can see almost every day in real life anyway: girls or women with hair just four inches below their shoulders.
I have been walking the face of this earth for quite a few decades now, and in real life have seen thigh-length, knee-length, or longer hair less than ten times in my entire life. By the way, nine out of these ten times, that superlong hair was absolutely beautiful, too, in every way: full and thick, like an endless curtain of pure silk, and not just some thin strands of hair whose owner had been desperately going for sheer length without quality.
I appreciate people whose love of long tresses ends at waist length, tailbone length, classic length, or knee length, and I think all of them should be welcome here and find what they look for and love. Although I personally love everything longer than waist length and cannot have it long enough, I can accept it when people value hair quality more highly than hair length. And although I don´t seem to be half as fond of getting hairjobs as many are on this forum, I do welcome the lovers of hairjobs as practicing (or dreaming of) one of the many perfectly legitimate ways to celebrate and worship the sex appeal of long hair - there is no question that they belong here just like me, although our loves of long hair appear to be just a little different.
But what should unite us all is the love of LONG hair.
And that is indeed the heart of the matter.
No matter how beautiful the hair or the woman who wears it - the length sported by Kate Middleton (who I find is an absolutely beautiful woman when all is considered) is not enough to be featured here, if you ask me.
Gorgeous length plus gorgeous quality hair is what I look for on this forum.
Can´t we agree that what we celebrate here should be minimum bra-strap length? I don´t think that would put an exaggerated emphasis on length, but it would give us a manageable minimum a little longer than what we can usually see in daily life. And it would still give us plenty of high-quality celebrity hair to choose from and to post here, at the same time.
Saying that LONG hair for us here means at least bra-strap length would indeed exclude some of the undoubtedly beautiful women that Chris has posted so often; but it would not put him under the extreme pressure to come up with lengths that are just out of this world or beyond good taste even for some long-hair admirers who come here.
