For me it was 1967 and we were both in college.

She was a beautiful tall lean athletic African American girl with a really huge natural Afro hairstyle.

For both of us it was quite outside the cultural norms we had grown up with as we had never dated outside our own race before that, it was not common as today.

For many reasons our relationship while it was magical at the moment, did not continue, but I remember her fondly.

When I looked for her on social media 10 yrs ago I was sad to find she had passed far too young from cancer.
